Default Exploding Flower

Is there anything I can improve on this picture? Is it too dark in the right hand corner? I wanted to do something different with a flower than my typical flower "mug shot". Does this composition work?

Thank you for your time and comments.

Mission 52-11

Exposure: 0.025 sec (1/40)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 109 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: -1 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Compositioni is fine, as far I can tell ...

But I woul liked to see more sharpnes .. at least most of the fowers internal shoul be in focus. maybe stop down a little more. But I see, your quite at the limit in Exposure time, so this could get tricky.

I think the composition is perfect. I like the darkness in the lower corner. It gives good balance to the dark spot in the left corner. I think the depth of field gives it an artistic, creative look, which I love! I would echo the thoughts of the hifigraz, stop down the aperture a bit more if you want to get more detail. Using a tripod or something to stabilize the camera would help with the slower shutter speed.

This is a beautiful photo!

Thanks for your comments. I shot using an extension tube with my 28-200 lens. The depth of field was extremely narrow...

i LOVE this shot!
nice work.. but.. agree with hifigraz that the sharpness isnt "quite" there... and maybe would have worked on the focus a lil more...

the colors work great together and especially the darkness you speak of

Its a very nice flower shot. Lovely detail. In terms of composition I would have preferred if the part of the stamen that was in focus was more to the bottom right, following rule of thirds. You may be able to do focus stacking if you wanted a bit more in focus, but I didn't really see any issues with the focus.

Its a pretty good shot, very well composed and sharp colours and focus. Its a beautiful flower
If there was a wider depth of field it would look even better.
Anyways, great work
