Default Played Hookie

I have relatives down from AZ.and my niece and daughter wanted to take some shots. Sooo since i am my own boss we went up Palmer Canyon and played. We finally had a day almost 60 degrees, it won't last long another snow storm is on the way with highs in the high 20's again. Feel free to Critique, It's the only way I am going to learn.

Please be sure to read thru the guidelines posted at the top of each page. That way you'll know all the ins and outs, what to include and what not to include. Thanks a million!!

Welcome to DPS Christi! I've only been at this a little over a year so I'm not an expert yet but would like to try and give you some constructive criticism.

I really like the warmth in the color of the grass and the sun reflecting off the water. On the other hand, the trees on the bank look to be cut off in an odd spot and the sky is blown out. Could you have possibly framed the shot a bit lower so that the sky is removed and only the lower part of the trees is visible? I assume that your main subject here is the branch in the water. A change in composition may help to make it stand out more.

I think that the exposure and color is good. Given that it looks like you were there in the middle of the day, you were in a situation that can be challenging in terms of light. I can see detail in the trees so you were able to pick up both the light and dark pretty well.

I hope that this was a bit helpful. Looking forward to seeing some of your images of green grass when it arrives.
