Hi All,
Just joined up to this wonderful site and after a trip to NZ recently have many photos I'd love feedback on. This is one of my fav's from the whole trip, took me a good 20mins of snapping away at the boiling mud pools before I finally caught a bubble in action. I havent touched it with a post-prod programme yet (can't afford to get one right now) but was wondering what effects or filters could be applied to this to make it a bit more dynamic??? Thanks!!! Info: Camera is a Fujifilm s1500 Tv - 1/280 Av - 8.0 Exposure Comp - -1 ISO 100 Flash Off Hand Held shot |

It's definitely a cool capture. I think it just needs some basic processing...a little contrast adjustment, some sharpening. The only thing that kinda bothers me about it is the main focal point...the popping bubble...is too far to the left and seems a little out of focus.

There are quite a few things you could do with this picture and I'd think it'd be a pretty good one to play with in pp. So, I say download gimp, play around with your pic (be sure and find and use the layers!) and see what you can do. Ask any specific questions you want and I'm sure we can get you an answer! =) |

Thanks for your help with this guys much appreciated. Im about to go download Gimp now.
Yes I agree it does appear out of focus but it was actually a little steam cloud between the camera and the bubble which has distorted the image, dammit! Thanks again!!!! |
