Hi Lisa! Welcome to the forum.
Interesting concept. I'd say you definitely get an "A" for trying a different angle. That's important! Unfortunately I think you are right and the tree is a bit distracting in this composition. It's competing for the center of attention with the Needle and the struggle is pretty intense. ![]() Not quite sure how to fix it. I would just say continue experimenting with different points of view. You are on the right track! A couple things to take away from this one. First, eliminate anything that you don't need. For instance, in this case, zoom in a bit and take out the lower right building and the elements below the trees to keep from having them compete with the subject as well. Also, keep your verticals in mind. The Needle is a bit crooked. Easy to fix in post-processing though. Easier to fix in the viewfinder. ![]() Keep up the experimenting!

I didn't notice the tower is leaning a bit, but now that you said that i see it.. the tree seems to be the stronger image of the two, hmm... I'm going to try some cropping and adjusting and see what i come up with. I'd like to go back there and try the shot again and see if I can get that perspective changed just a little. I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions, thank you.
