Any ideas what could I have done better while shooting this? Thanks

ISO100
Aperturef/8.8
Focal Length5.7mm

I've added your EXIF per the forum rules. The colour and exposure on the photo look good with the tree silhouette. But... it feels like the photo has been cut off in an odd spot. I'm guessing you cropped it. So is there any particular reason why you cropped it at this point of the tree rather than leaving more of the tree in?

I did crop it in fact. This was shot through glass and the bottom part had some reflections and unusable. I did not feel like not using the entire thing cause of that. Also, I kinda like the wide effect it has ^^

I think the shot has potential. I really don't like the overexposed area around the sun. While it's hard to not get some overexposure, it would be nice to see a bit less so it's not quite as blinding. An ND grad (maybe upside down) or a bit of HDR might help this situation.

I do like the sky colors! An ND grad would really help that as well.
