Default Lone Tree

tried to capture this lone tree on a hill top on a winter morning..
can you tell me how the composition could have been improved? Is the subject too much to the left?

I think it could be better looking if you turned your camera slightly left, without cutting bush

Overall I think you have a pretty good composition. I agree with Revik...maybe pan just slightly leftward so the vertical part of the tree is at the 1/3 spot on the left side of the image.

Another option if you want to make the tree appear all alone is to use Photoshop (or other editing software) to clone out the trees and people in the background so it's just a barren hillside.

Hope that helps!

I agree with cloning out the distractions in the background but overall I like the composition. Maybe just a tad bit too far to the left.

I think that it would look more like a lone tree if the shot was not so tight.
