Default Colorfull Mountain landscape

Hello,

I took this picture on a weird winter day at the mountain (weird because it was raining in December and we were there for skiing).

What do you think about the composition? I changed the contrast from Picassa (and cropped it a bit). Do you thing the contrast is exagerated?

While I'm not certain, the colors strike me as unnatural at first glance. It may be the contrast, instead, streatching out those colors. Did you only change the contrast? How so?

I agree with David. The contrast processing is a bit much. Can you post an unprocessed image?

You are right, I think I have used USM also on this one (processed it a month ago), the original looks more naturally. Here it is.

Btw, how can i insert a picture directly in the reply? Using Attach is a little bit disturbing as it is shown as Thumbnails and must be opened each time for view-ing (I'm a newby here, sorry for the dumb question)

MUCH better! I did notice that it appears the foreground is a bit out of focus. It might be a depth of field issue. A smaller aperture (maybe f/11 or f/13) might have helped. Did you use auto focus? If so, it might have tried to focus on the mountains which threw off the foreground. Maybe try using hyperfocal distance focusing or switch to manual focus.

The best way to post images is to reference them from a photo sharing site such as Flickr or similar. The critique forum rules has a link at the bottom with instructions on how to do it.

Hope that helps!
