Default B&W Winter Creek

I don't have much experience with B&W. Please critique B&W conversion, and anything else you would like to comment on. Converted with DXO and LR

Its a nice perspective and composition...
the tones are a little too dark

i would lighten up and thats about it

i viewed your pic for some time and kind of like the tones... Feels nice and relaxed.. however just for discussion sake.. i tried some editing...and this is what i got.

i played with the contrast, brighten and sharpen it up a bit.. It kind of defines the shadows and make the image hard.. If that's the proper word.... how do you feel about this..?

(i'll remove it if you dont approve me editing it.)

Thanks dan, i was thinking the same thing after i posted it. I brightened it up some.

I don't mind at all wal, it did need lightened a bit. Thanks for the input.

I liked how dark it was - my eye was drawn up the creek/brook. Nothing wrong with the edit either, simply that I liked it the way it was.

Thanks Sistereinstein(you need a smaller name) That was my original thought when i edited it. You would be drawn to the light up the center. Everyone sees things different though.
