Default Nobby's at Sunrise

I decided to go for a drive at 4:30am this morning to try and capture a sunrise, despite the forecast for rain by the weather bureau. I took a total of 22 shots, these two I think are my best ones, but I would like some critique on them.

Camera: Nikon D5000
Exposure: 3
Aperture: f/22.0
Focal Length: 18 mm
Focal Length: 18.3 mm
Exposure Bias: -1 EV
Flash: No Flash

Camera: Nikon D5000
Exposure: 2

Focal Length: 18 mm
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

To be honest, I feel that I might have over done the post processing on the second one (I dodged the rocks at the front to bring out the texture).

I wont critique the photos as my monitor's a bit crook, but these shots are really nice,

Well done and good on you for waking up so early!

Hi, thanks for the critique.

Well spotted, I deliberately set the white balance to Daylight - Full Sun and used a blue graduated filter in Capture NX2. I felt it looked nicer with the cooler colors.

Here's what it looks like with the white balance correctly set to Daylight - Cloudy and with a graduated neutral density filter...

I see so you would rather have it a bit of a colder look than when it should be warmer look
well wonder what other thought of it good work in the PP

Cheers

Sorry for the late replay, I didn't get an email for the response.

Thank you for the kind words.

Just for a bit of fun, I decided to convert the second image to black and white using the recommended channel mixer settings from this site (Kodak Tri-X 400), some dodging, unsharp mask, and a curves adjustment for a contrast...
