I think you did a nice job with this! There are some things that you might try next time that might make it better:
1) Is there a bench or something you could climb on to get yourself a little higher and get a different perspective? The trees on the right side look out of proportion to the falls, and taking the shot from a little bit higher location might help. 2) A graduated neutral density filter would allow you to block out some of the light from the sky, which would allow a longer exposure and give more of that silky water look (assuming you're using a tripod) and would allow you to have a little more light on the water in the bottom portion of the photo. 3) It might be fun to go here around sunrise or sunset and see how the light hits the water - might be able to get something really dramatic if the sun hits the falls just right, or if there was a pretty sunset in the sky over the falls. Like I said, I think you did a nice job with this - your DOF is good, focus is good, exposure is good. I just mentioned these thinking that since the park is local, you could go back and play with it and see what else you do. Looks like a lovely location - |
