Default Manhattan Bridge in B&W

What do you think about the B&W treatment, is there enough detail?

Thanks Chris. I added another version with a little sharpening. Can't decide if it is better or not.

What you are looking for in a black and white image is tonality; that is, a full range of grays from solid black to brightest white with lots of variation in between. (Yes, I know there are exceptions, but in landscapes in particular, those exceptions are rare.) In your image above you have done a terrific job with the tonal range. If you are new to photography, give yourself a pat on the back, this is excellent work. However, I'd crop this image so the two blobs at the center bottom are cropped out. The blobs are screwing terribly with your composition and cropping will give your image more of a panorama effect which would benefit it even further.

Great shots! There is a very sight difference between version 1 and version 2 but I think i prefer version 2 with the bigger contrast and the darker blacks.

Very good composition overall!

Lee, thanks for the comment. I will remove the blobs since there is not enough definition in the wood pilings in the B&W version.

I really like this shot, the clouds in the sky are a great addition.
