Default First attempt at photographing buildings

Hi everyone,

I've been a viewer of DPS and the forum for a while now, but have never posted before... so here goes!

I've noticed that most of the photos I have been taking have been mainly landscapes or macro shots, and so after seeing the "9 Architectural Photography Tips" the other day I thought I'd give it a go. Below is a photo I took today and I would be interested to hear some comments about the composition and if the colours/contrast look ok (I'm still not really sure if my post processing skills are any good or not!)

Project365: 2 - city tower

Camera: Canon PowerShot A720 IS
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/8.0
Focal Length: 5.8 mm
ISO Speed: 80
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Thanks for looking

I like it... its not too bad of a composition... i would have maybe tried to get alittle more of the sky, but the reflections that you got are nice and its decent perspective!

keep shooting!

You don't need anymore sky in this shot since it is by no means your goal. The reflections are great. The colors arte lacking which you can fix by adding more contrast and maybe a little more vibrance in PP. Little more work in post and you will have an amazing shot here. You have a great eye in my opinion.

I agree with both posters. Fun angles, nice light. I probably would have included a touch more sky, but the shot is fine how it is!

Nice photo but I would have got a little closer to the building and added slightly more sky, this would have added extra height to the building and well as a little more colour.

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated!

Edit: That was weird, neither of these posts displayed straight away after I posted them, so it looked like it didn't work!
