Nice photo of the snow collecting on branches. I would say that it's still very grey -- a quick adjustment with levels or curves (in your favorite photo editor) might help. That, or you could make it brighter in-camera by either making the shutter speed longer, or opening the aperture wider.

cool, I'll try that next time! I have jsut been trying to guesstimate on my own and as you can tell that isn't working very well. hahahahahahahaha

Wink Peek at existing captures

If you want to see how those winter captures you took process, ...if you took them in RAW mode your camera RAW software should allow you to ajust your EV settings.

If you took them in JPG mode, then create a layer and overlay the adjustment layer with screen for underexposure (too dark), and overlay with darken or multiply for Overexposure (too light). Adjust the transparency of those levels for how big of an overlay you wish. Set your colours for the brush to white and black. Then use the vector mask to attend to specific areas of lightening and / or darkening. Black back to original, white to new overlay layer. Repeat the layers if necessary, repeat if necessary.
