Which technique fo the 4 do you mean exactly? I have no Photoshop, if you don't mind, you could do it and show me what you mean?

Here are two examples using method 1 on the cropped version. Using the #2 version to filter the background with the darker levels and the crosshatch tool over the parking lot worked not too bad to darken and reduce interest in the foreground, but I still couldn't get a better ratio or work the rule of thirds better.
Method 1 tried with layer set at overlay at 26% which makes the " light tones lighter and the dark tones darker" so it may accent the cranes against the sky with that effect. Read more: 4 Easy Photoshop Techniques to Make Your Pictures Pop! ![]() Method 1 tried with layer set at vivid light set at 57% ![]() Method 1 tried with Gaussian blur 1.8 pixels and layer set at vivid light set at 21% combined with neon glow using the yellow from the building below the cranes. This affected the sky, as yellow is used to darken blue and vice versa, so the sky became more dramatic as well as lending more yellow to the cranes as if the sun hit them at sunset.

Ah, maybe I activated a filter that has been off in the first picture. Here we go one more time.

The sky in the "original" washed out with the Gaussian blur layer effects, and the sky in the cropped version had more happening in it, but one area really did darken between the cranes.
That effect really does find the lights and darks. It was interesting. |

Ah, yes I like that better.
The edit over at SriMesh's flickr stream Cranes pop effect 1 study on Flickr - Photo Sharing! But it looks like he posted the set above. SriMesh; I like the middle one with vivid color set at 57%!

Ah she posted it when I did so I've overlooked it.
I like the middle one too, it gets _really_ arty though (not being bad, I like it a bit more abstract). Gotta find out how to achieve that in Capture NX2/GIMP for the next time.
