Default Wide Angle Sunset

Hello Everyone
Tell me what you think of the light level of this. I have others like it that are brighter but the colors and lighting seem more dramatic in this since it is darker. Also tell me if you think the power lines are a distraction.

From DPS

Camera: OLYMPUS IMAGING CORP.
Model: E-520
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/3200 sec
Aperture: 4.5
Focal Length: 14mm
Flash Used: No

Thanks

I like the colors (might bump them up just a tad tho)and the angle you chose.
The lines and the black around the edges from your lens are a big distraction tho,
Please be sure to read the guidelines

Thanks for the suggestions. I may work on editing out the power lines. The lens I used is a fairly cheap off brand 0.45x super wide angle. My Olympus camera has a 2x crop factor for converting to 35mm equivalent. So the effective focal length for this shot is about 12.6mm in 35mm equivalent. That is equal to about 8mm for your camera b4b.

Here is an article on wikipedia about them.Fisheye lens - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
They are technically called fisheye lenses. They are used to capture an extremely wide field of view by distorting everything. Some of them can capture as much as 180 degrees but mine is on the smaller side.

Here is a chart on the canon website about focal lengths. The first widest angle one is about equal to mine.
Canon USA Consumer Products - EF Lenses 101 - Focal Length Comparison

Here is an article on wikipedia about camera sensor sizes. It is a little complicated but it is wroth trying to understand it because it helps in your understanding of how different lenses work.
Image sensor format - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here is a link to a lens like the one I used on Amazon
Amazon.com: Opteka .35x HD² Super Wide Angle Panoramic Macro Fisheye Lens for Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, XTi, XS, XSi, & T1i Digital SLR Cameras: Electronics

I believe that is just a part of fish-eye lenses. Sometimes with these attachment lenses if you zoom out your main lens all the way and have that combined with the fish-eye lens you can see the lenses edge in the picture. This may just be because it is an attachment lens or it could be that it is a Fish-eye/Macro combination lens. The same affect can probably be had with the lens I pointed you to on amazon. It is just caused by zooming everything out all the way. Anyway, sorry for the wordiness of all this but I hope that helps.
