Default B/W Docs

This is one of my first attempts to create a good b/w image. I shot this at dusk, and I'm not sure that there was enough contrast. I'm also questioning if the background is fine the way it is or if it would have been better to have something there (more dof).

EXIF:
Model: NIKON D40
ISO: 200
Exposure: 1/250 sec
Aperture: f/11
Focal Length: 200mm

Hello

No there really isn't enough contrast. But the problem is not overall contrast but rather that you can't distinguish the background from the subject very well. Because of that it is hard to make out exactly what the subject is and you have to spend time on that instead of admiring the photo. Other then that it is a very nice photo.
