If you need advice on how to do PP on this shot, it would be a great idea to let us know what you are looking to do with this shot. PP is a trully vast subject and there is as many ways to work a picture as there are photographs on this forum. Please point us in the direction you would like your shot to go into, after all you are the artist.

At the risk of sounding rude, I am wondering why you would want to make any adjustments to this image. You essentially have a very high contrast image with just a few mitones in the sky and street. You could work with the levels a bit to see if you could make something interesting happen in the midtone area, but even if you could you are dealing with a somewhat lackluster composition.
Now, having been somewhat cruel in my assessement I will add one positive note: this is how photographers learn; by experimenting and taking chances. I'm glad you took this chance even if the image didn't come up to standards. Next time you take a chance like this you may find you have hit a home run and people will wonder at your prowess with a camera. That's how it usually goes. |

Barabe - when on location, i looked at the scene and saw the image as being a silhoette style image. The car is a bonus which was in one of the best shots I took. My main thing I want to remove/decrease is the hazeyness - the blacks look very grey to me (this is mostly due to shooting directly into sun with an old manual lens - no coatings, or very old coatings). Also was interested to know if the blown out sun was too much of a distraction, and whether I should decrease it. Same goes for the lens flare dot under the car. Apologies for not wording my Q properly - your point is a very good one - there are infinite ways to modify images
![]() LeeR - The way I see the image might be different to you (different monitor settings, and mine is calibrated by hand/eye rather than by proper hardware)? Ive just seen it on my screen when uncalibrated, and its is all shadows and all you can see of the car is the headlights. Actually looks really boring. When monitor is 'calibrated', I can see the road and the car quite clearly, and it has this golden haze. Just wondering if which is the image that you are seeing and critiquing?
