Default 10,000 Volt Sunset

I really like this photo, out of the 50 or so I took that night this was a better one. I would like to know if I should leave in the barb wire? I was contemplating removing it, but I have been told otherwise.

I had to do some adjusts in exposure and brightness to bring out the detail which increased the noise. Can this be avoided?

Any other comments are welcome as I know luck plays a part in chasing storms as well.

Thanks

Jason

What a captivating shot! Were you using bulb exposure or was this by chance? I saw the other shots on Flickr and they are equally astounding! Very nice work!

Edit: Absolutely you should keep the barbed wire!

Default Great shot

The wire is hardly visable in the photo posted, but I do not think that I would delete.
With reference to the noise, which does not appear to be obvious in the photoposted, I note the ISO speed used is 100 which should have been pretty darn good, so I guess the next question is, RAW or JPEG and have you perhaps cropped the image...??

I am no expert, so lets hope someone will give you a more professional answer to your question.

Regards
Gav

That is a terrific lightning shot. The colors just amplify the lightning. I don't really see noise that I would find objectionable.

Jason,
This is a fantatic shot. The mood captured is violently tranquil, if there was any such thing.

Wow! Fantastic! I would leave the barbed wire. It looks like man's meager attempt to fence in the forces of nature. As far as the noise -- what noise? If there is any, I think it was worth the trade-off for such crispness in the clouds and the lightning strike. Just my humble opinion.

I wouldn't change a thing. It's fine as it is with the colors and subject matter.

Wow that is a once in a lifetime shot, I like it just the way it is with the barbed wire.
