Default Swam at loch ness

Lucky that there is 2 swams swimming close to me when i try to get the view of loch ness at scotland.

Nikon D 3000
F/3.5
exposure 1/800
ISO - 200
Focus length 18mm

Hmm pls comment on how i can improve on this kind of shot. I feel like it don't able to provide somekind of feeling that the lake is big and long.. how i can improve this.

Nice photo oportunity. Btw, this is a Critique section, you should ask for critique on specific aspects of your photo. And include some exif info. The rules: Critique Forum Rules

Well first and foremost the horizon is very crooked. Unless you went for that angle, it needs straightening up in PP, or you can go to Picnik.com to straighten the shot for free if you don't have photoshop.
It's a shame that the sky is so grey, have you tried a black and white conversion?
As for the big and long question, the lake looks pretty big to me! I think this is a nice shot with potential, I'd like to see any re-edits you do.

For me, that crooked horizon is too distracting, looks unnatural. I have plenty of swans near me and have been chronicling their cygnets' life so far. Although all photos have been completely on Auto so far, so haven't uploaded any!

Ok, the horizon is already discussed plenty.
What I want to add is, that the colors are to warm for me.

Pretty shot though!
