Hi, I've been finding the sky quite annoying in London, it's always the same old shit grey!! But yeah, I took this shot, but feel there's something I could've done to make it better through PP, but couldn't figure out what!
![]() I think maybe I should've put the horizon on a third and perhaps waited for better weather for a more interesting sky... Any thoughts?

The location has potential, but there are some things bugging me a bit.
Yeah, perhaps wait a while for both better weather and for the scaffolding to dissapear from that building. Perhaps also leave the grass in the corner out, or add more and make it in focus? I dunno. It does need something though, perhaps actually taken from that boat out on the water? But then the boad does look good in shot. I feel like I want to shift the camera about 2m to the left though. Maybe zoom in a little bit. Hrm it has potential though, perhaps revisit it in summer... |

Although I am currently in Madrid. The wooden barriers are supposed to be clambered over, when people come along in boats they have to open and close them to get through the lock, so they need to go into the little island in the middle to do that. So yeah go for it! I love regent's canal, it's a part of London most people don't see but it's got some great little spots along it. Happy shooting! |

Gnownad, what a great location with such an interesting subject to capture. With how it is currently composed, it lacks a definitive subjective to initially grab the viewer's attention. From what I see, the boat would make a fantastic subject. If the boat were framed, for example, in the lower left or right third, it will create a more aesthetically pleasing balance to the image and allow the viewer to be grabbed by the boat and then continue exploring the quant town. Hope this might help. You could also boost the saturation and contrast a bit, which might help the colors and tones stand out a tad more.

Hey gnownad!
As you already mentioned weather doesn't help picture. You need shadows to get better feel of perspective. I would also suggest to zoom in or crop picture so you get boat closer and more detail on bridge and to loose the scaffolding. You also suggested bringing horizon on third which seems good idea for composition but be careful with converging verticals. You can fix that in PP. But I'm new here and so I'm not really experienced and I could be wrong. Important is that we all try our best as often as possible (-: |
