While the house itself is quite lovely (especially with those red lanterns on the front) the rest of the image doesn't has much to offer. Try your best to really isolate the image to highlight what is most beautiful.

For example, in this image, you might have taken the shot straight on with the front door through the roof and sky. Or, gotten lined up with the very side of the building and shot down the row of red lanterns against the brick facade. It might create a more singular image.

Personally, I think it's a good shot: it's got an interesting angle and cool saturated colours. However, I'm not very sure what I'm supposed to be focusing on. Do you mean to focus the image on the house? In that case maybe having it fill up more of the frame in the centre would be a good idea. Keep it at the angle though, it's a good one! The trees on the left, although they are nice, are a bit distracting, and I find I keep moving my eyes over to them while staring at your shot!

Hope a little of these comments help, I just rambled a bit...

I don't agree. I like the composition, like every shot I have seen by Androgs.
I think the first thing I would do with this shot would be set a white point in NX2 to properly White Balance the shot, then work with the light lines to balance the exposure, the colors would probably take care of themselves! May I try an edit Androgs?

Here is a quick edit. Keep in mind, I would prefer to work with a larger photo, I have been using the NX2 software for all of two days and I believe you are a better photographer than I.

AndrogsChinese Garden Edit

I set a White Point, adjusted the Brightness using Levels and Curves, and ended up bumping the green in the foliage using Color Control Point. I think this program, Nikon NX2 is easier to use than photoshop!

I like what the Doctor ordered with the trees and all!

ALl in all tho, I do agree and think its a nice composition... and there are plenty of other things that you can with the shot, but wait.. isnt that the same with all photos?

Nice capture for colors!

Keep em coming!

Yep the composition is nice.
Because the subject is a shrine, temple, etc, we have to avoid using sharp angle which create tension in the picture.
For me the picture can improve if there is less distraction in the photo. For instance, notice the the green shrub on the bottom right conor of the picture. That should be definately crop out. Also the noticable shrub on lower right.
So in short, cropping of the picture might improve it.

I'll fix the perspective distortion of the house entrance first.

wuaw!! thank you so much all for such a warm responses.

Doctor Atomo, thank you so much for your edit, it's nice!!, it looks brighter and I think its better than mine. I especially like what you did with the color of the foliage. I think now i know what you mean..thanks again!!

SuperDan, thank you so much for such kind comment, sure will keep the other shots come in near future.

qunox, Thanks for pointing that, I think I learn something now about cropping and really to leave just the necessary area for one image.

LoveDSLR, thanks..hmm..I really need a lot of practises about the perspective issue.
