I have a Kodak P712 digital camera, and I love it. Before I got this camera I had a point-and-shoot Z740. I want a new camera that would still be easy to use, and give me more features to work with. I know that I made the right desicion in buying this camera.
The P712 has basic Auto setting, but also comes with Scene Setting modes and PASM mode. The Scene mode inculde Party, Snow, Text, Portrait, Landscape and even Sunsets and Candlelight. But my favorite is the PASM, which is where I spend most of my time in. In this mode you can the Aperture and Exposure. The P mode lets you play around with the differnet setting until you get familiar with them. Then you can move on the the Custom setting, where you can create your own setting mode. Beside the setting modes this camera also comes with many other features. It has Hot Shoe connector, that will allow you to add a Bounce flash for better lighting. This camera also has a recharging battery and charger with it in the box. Most Point-and-shoots you have to buy your own rechargable batteries. I think that this camera is the best one to expermient with. They are alot of other Professional Point-and-shoot cameras in the market, but i believe that the P712 gives you the best of all Point-and- shoot cameras and also some the features found on DSLR cameras. So, if you are looking for a new camera and you are not sure that you are ready for the DSLR cameras. Try this camera and you will not regard it. Also it is only $500.00. So you will not really be digging deep into your pocket.
