Default Red Martini - My first attempt with my new light tent

I decided I wanted to get into some stock photos since the onyl type of photography I have done so far is mostly nature sky and landscapes.

I found a cheap easy to build light tent which cost me about 8 bucks to make without including the lamps/lights.

This is my first attempt at using it.

I bought a martini glass that I thought had a unique style. I filled it with red coloring and water. Added a few ice cubes and an umbrella straw I had around the house. Positioned the drink inside my light tent and took a few pictures from different angles.

Imported the RAW file into photoshop and made some adjustment till I thought it looked better than the original. Made the background solid white as well.

My lighting was terrible. All I had was a single lamp with a common household bulb so there was a huge amount of orange tint. I fixed some of it photoshop but plan to get more proper lighting soon.

Very nice image!! I'd be interested to see the set-up of that tent you speak of and a how-to build it.

very nice.
I built myself a small light box a couple weeks ago. Still messing around with the whole lighting thing myself. Would love to see your light tent and how you built it as I would really like to make a bigger one myself.

Here is a link to what I built. I made 2 seperate sets of legs. One set is 14 inches, the others are 24. That way I can make the tent taller if needed. I didnt glue any pieces that way I can dismantle the entire thing and store it easily.

Thanks for sharing. I've been wanting to try and build one of these but my condo is small so I don't have much room to store anything so the idea of being able to take it all apart and put it under a bed is very appealing. Nice work!
