Default glucerine?

have you ever tried glycerine? That's what a lot of food-and-beverage photographers use for water beading that holds its shape longer...

I tried glycerine, obviously its thicker so holds its shape longer but it still spread too quickly for me faffing around with focusing so I failed miserably! I'll try again one day though.

After seeing this thread, I think I'll make a set of "water drop filters" I can shoot through, using a few materials I have on hand that I use for cutting gemstones. I have some optical epoxy, canada balsam, and superglue.... All can form very nice droplets that will harden. I will take a few small pieces of glass, and add my drops... then once they cure, I can use them in any orientation, on any subject I want.

Just because it looks wet, dosent mean it actually NEEDS to be wet....

Default My effort at a similar shot...

I went for a tighter crop.

Noisy, Dusty, Badly lit, But I like it

I'm trying to think of other things that would work well as "subjects" to appear in the water drop lens when placed underneath.
