Thanks. I used 1/640 sec, ISO 400 (i didn't use the flash) f5.9 and i had to play with the distance between my camera and the droplets in order to get them in focus. Good luck

This was one of my first experiments when I got my kenko extension tube set. I used my 55-250mm Kit lens, with the full stack of tubes, so a single splash would fill the frame, and I still had 2+ feet of working distance so I didnt make a mess of my camera. I learned a lot about how my new camera worked while sitting by the sink with a steady drip into a multicolored vase.

I like the way the water seems to be clinging to the faucet while the liberated drop separates itself.

It takes a lot of patience, but when you finally get your shot, it is one of those happiest moment. So good luck with it
Great shot. Usually the flash will help though, it freezes the action.

Great start! Its not about the shutter speed, but about the flash pulse. It is the flash that will freeze the droplet.

I have been dying to try some more of these shots, just haven't had the time. A while back I got a decent set of them.

Here is the DPS thread that tell how I did it if you are interested.

Just a little tip for focusing. If you have the option to lock focus, figure out where your drop is going to be and place a object, like a fork, in that very spot. Then lock your focus on it, remove it and your ready to shoot!

Heres one of my shots using this technique.
