Talking DIY Macro Lens

I know this has been done alot before, but I'm new to photography and I'm trying my hand at everything! I stuck my nifty fifty on to the end of my kit lens backwards and went out to my garden to see how it would work...subjects in the photo are about 1cm in size and the end of the "lens" had to be about 1-2cm away to be able to focus...the black ring you can see on the edge of the photos is the inside of the 50mm...let me know what you think!

The frankenlens taken with phone cam:

That's very clever! Once I get my 50/1.8 I'll have to try this. Thanks for sharing.

It can get in the gears and focus ring.
You can buy reversing rings for cheap.

Typical ..... of both of you!!! lol but have to agree with the no tape comment what the guy ( or lady) is saying is they cannot get the adaptor ring there would also say they should look into e-bay and DHL one ASAP but as for the post am actually very surprised by your reults they have a nice clarity in some and the effect the 50 is leaving in the vignette is really nice too nice going but be careful or you will be in need of new lenses ...

here's a link to e-bay adaptor rings

The photos turned out good. I like the vignetting (spelling?) caused by the lens.
