Smile Blue water drops

Hi,

The above pics were taken using a Canon Powershot SX1. i am beginner wen it comes to photography, so comments and suggestions are most welcome
Equipment used :-

1. A blue bucket half full of water
2. tripod
3. camera
4. pure bright sunlight

thats it !!! really.

how i took it ???

1. put the bucket out in bright sunlight.
2. setup my cam and tripod such that i cud see the sun's reflection in the water
3. manually adjusted the focus by putting my finger in the center of the water surface.
4. asked my sis to put water drops in the center of the bucket, while i shot at 4 fps

Shutter spd : 1/2500 sec
Aperture 5.7
ISO 400
Mode : shutter priority

Any instructions I have seen for these types of shots before have always involved off-camera flash, so I'm happy to see how simply you achieved this. (I might give it another go). Well done!

for some reason i m not comfortable using a flash :S
thats why i waited for the bright morning sun before taking these shots (it was pretty hot too !! so it comes at a price)

nice try... i lke the shots.. but the angle is bothering me honestly...
i think the water drop is somewhat lost in the blue.....may be cos of the very high shutter speed..
but i dont think its complicated to use a flash...
ur pop up flash is enough...

i ve tried...have a look.. may b u will like it...

Default Nice light

I like the water drops but what stands out to me is the little light stars. This is what makes the shot really interesting to me. Well done!
