Default spin the light

I got this idea from the post 'A Fun Light Painting Project-Parabolas' by Darren Rowse.
So, I thought i want to try it with a slightly diferent way, experimenting by using a zoom lens instead of wideangle to get the result.

I use a nikon d90 with nikon af-s dx 18-200vr to shoot this photo.

Materials needed:
1. LED
2. battery
3. string
4. rubber band
5. a ceiling fan(not necessary)

Procedure:
1.First setup the LED with the battery, pointing downwards, from the ceiling fan using the string. The length of string changes the type of picture you will get, so have fun and experiment.
2.Next place your camera below the LED facing the ceiling.Make sure your LED is securely fastened, it would be a horrible thing if it fell and smashed your lens.
3.Set your camera on the bulb setting. Use a small aperture.Make sure you already statisfy with your focus on the LED.
4.Then turn off all the lights in the room.Turn on the fan for it begin to spin in circle and then trigger your bulb setting.
5.While the shutter is open, you can experiment by zoom-in/zoom-out to get a more 'wow' effect.

P/S: capturing in different directions and angles may produces a unique results.

A special thanks to Darren Rowse for sharing me the tips and have fun while experimenting to you guys
