The dry ice gives a pretty neat look too! A lot more smoke to it. A little more difficult to get though Hope you enjoy it here!

OK NOW we're going a bit mental with the post-processing.

But then I'm a fan of minimalist stuff and asymmetry!

Ok, seeing all these hearts in the thread set my imagination looking for other things in the smoke. (Hey, what can I say, I still look for things in the clouds). My husband couldn't figure out what this was...my 4 yr old got it the second she looked at it.

Obviously, the sparkles were added pp. I thought it was fun! (It's my favorite holiday!)

Mr.Intensity,
Thank you very much for the great comment, and my apologies for taking so long to get back to your question.
Yes this shot is mirror image.
My last steps in this were just flattening the image, increasing canvas size and then duplicating and flipping the layer.
Here's another one where I used the same technique.

You never know what you'll get. With a little PS I got this sweet shot. I used a 18-70 kit lens Auto focused on my hand placed just above the insence stick in the smoke then turned the focus to manual and left it there. The flash was off camera facing upwards under the smoke with a paper snoot on the flash (SB-600 w/ sync cord). I think I'm hooked on this now. Thanks for all the tutorial information!!!

Fabulous images, have been meaning to try these for a while - you have just inspired me to now have a go.

Thanks
