I was interested in the explanation, too. It's been a while since I did any smoke shots and I didn't have offcamera flash back then either. Now with 10 inches of snow on the ground, it gives me something to try indoors this weekend!

Hey I gave this a try the other day, I didnt realize that this thread was here!

I just tried to take a smoke picture! But it didn't come out very clear, most of them were blurry, but i did get this .. this was my first attempt at one!

Wonderful photos! I like to inverted one with the white background.

I got into smoke photography too this year and here are some of my first ones Smoke Photography.

I went pretty crazy with them and liked the material I got and what it allowed me to do.
