Thanks again, for the info. I just did some reading on the Raynox DCR-250 macro adaptor. Is it the same as using close-up lenses (diopters usually of 1, 2, 3 and 10) that you would manually screw into the end of the lens? I saw some amazing examples in the sites I visited (typically from about 10cm away.).

A similar idea - a magnifying lens plus an adapter that allows it to be held in front of a wide range of lenses (when the clip isn't broken ).

ps. It has had a lot of use in the five months since I got it (checking on Flickr, I have kept over 250 pictures in that time using the Raynox and discarded a whole lot more). It is very easy to take on and off but that seems to have sacrificed some durability. Still good value though.

Hi Charlie. Thanks for sharing your photo. Looks like the same type of flower in my bee shot. I learn something new everytime I try to capture these little guys with my camera. The first 5,000 images are the hardest! 8-)

let them buzz your head...gives you a good chance to practice your panning skills! LOL! I think its a great shot for ten feet away..I wouldn't even have been able to see the bee
