This is a very interesting idea - and somrthing quite different from the usual water drop and splash work. very well done

At first when I saw the picture, it looked like one of those silver gazing balls that you see in peoples gardens.

It is an awesome picture.

Good point, a clear one of those might be easier to photograph. Although it might not have the same aerial effect, but it might make a cool shatter when it hits the ground to catch using high speed photography.
