Default Heysham Sunset

Obvioulsy i selected my location with sturdy tripod and waited for the dramatic sunset that never was...........lol

I set the camera up as follows........

F 13
ISO 100
Mode Manual
Metering Pattern
Exposure 1//60
Focal Length 35mm
Camera 17 - 85mm
Lens Canon Eod 40D

I actually wish i could have got lower down to the water to show more of the boat as a kind of silhouette but that wasnt possible due to me being situated on a high (25ft ish ) dockside wall in heysham, near morecambe in lancashire.

so my main problem is that the sunset wasnt tthat dramatic due to lack of scattered clouds i think, but i kinda liked this shot, i was lucky enough to have a boat full of truck to leave the docks just after sunset which in my opinion made this image.

Red sky at night, sailor's delight.

Nice image. I don't think that a sunset needs to have loots of clouds reflecting colors all the time. The red glow on the horizon is perfect in this shot.

I like it.. I would however clone out that seagul... I find it obtrusive... my eye keeps going over to him, and missing the point of the shot.

Default Heysham Sunset

there have been some kickass sunset opportunities lately, hope nobody has been missing out.
I took these at the pier in Oceanside Saturday night... about 15 minutes after sunset.

Seconded, I thought it was a bit of dust at first. Beautiful shot otherwise What if any post processing did you do? My sunsets never come out so vibrant.

DHG.
