A buddy and I used to do this with a 5 gal. Culligan Water Cooler bottle. It made a cool rocket sound. I was more interested in shooting the jet of flame coming out of the top and we thought it would be neat to get a taller jet. We tried to make the nozzle smaller by putting a hole in the cap and snapping it back on the bottle. Needless to say the plastic bottle exploded in my hands, flew 20 feet in the air and came crashing down. The incident left us unharmed but the parents weren't to pleased when they heard the explosion from down the street. Just saying, be careful.

I've got some pretty poor shots from that experiment. I'll see if I can find them and post any semi-decent ones.

Someone mentioned using a lower percentage alcohol mixture for the flame. Basically anything over 50% alcohol will burn well enough for this to work. In most places it is hard to get anything higher than 70-75% alcohol unless you know someone with a really good still. Unless you can buy everclear where you live. The lower the percentage of alcohol in the mixture, the more orange you will get in the flame at the top of the bottle and the more light you will get from the flame.

Basically the main idea is to let the alcohol inside the bottle vaporize, and then turn it on, so you can take the picture.

In the next days ill take more pictures with different bottles, I promise to upload.

Buddy, looks like you like to play with fire ....so i got an idea for you if you wanna try it out.
Fill a spray bottle with zippo lighter fuel and attach a small candle in front of the nozzle of the spray bottle. Light of the candle, spray the zippo fuel and see the flame thrower at work. Believe me the flames will be quite fantastic

WARNING: Try at your OWN risk

Be careful and don't burn your camera :P

You see i have seen a friend do this....but he didnt have a camera but i guarantee that the flames will be really cool..

Hope that you can try it out
P.S. I am not forcing you or anything :P
Just an idea

HAHAHAHA

Thank you for being so consider.

Its not that dangerous if you really concentrate in what you’re doing, also it helps to have a long matchstick or lighter.

I really like to see your work if any of you dares....
