I love lightening shots, and have attempted to capture those moments many times. Your suggestions sound good and I can't wait to try this one out.

Saw a link to a set of Canon hacks that included motion sensing.

Check this out if you are a Canon p&s shooter...

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read all 5 pages of this thread before posting. Someone beat me to it on this one. Cheers.

Default options?

How about some info for us without a bulb setting. I have the Digital Rebel XT. What would be some decent settings here or recommendations? Is there some detection accessories for such a model as mine?

The Rebel XT can do bulb, actually. You can either do it with the on camera shutter release (not recommended) or you can pick up a cheap remote (< $5 US on dealextreme.com) and go crazy.

That'll work, but I have this one:

And it does bulb just fine on my XT.

Thanks for your help! Oh, but, what is the process here? What is bulb? What exactly will happen when I use this device? Sorry, I'd like to capture the lightning, but need to know what (laymans terms) goes on here. Thanks.

Bulb simply keeps the shutter open for as long as the button is held down.
