Default Light Painting - Bananas

Here's my first attempt at a light trail shot. I love this type of phtoography and have seen some amazing shots on this site. I took this in the kitchen in the dark with a torch with a bit of black bin liner over the end with a hole punched in it to make the light a bit more focused. I just ordered a $20 green laser pointer on amazon to try some more effects.

It's actually rather tricky drawing in mid air I have to say although this example was on the kitchen counter.

I used a:

20 second exposure
F11 Apeture
ISO 100
47mm Focal Length
Manually focused when the lights were on of course

on of course a tripod. No real post processing except a bit of cropping.

Also I turned the torch on then off at each section, so did one banana then turned the torch off, then did the other banana etc.

I just discovered this site and I think it's what I have been waiting for. Great site, great ideas and real text explaining how it was done is really going to improve my photography.

It looks like something out of a graphic novel (comic) to me. Really nice effect.

I feel all inspired to do some light painting again.....

I agree with earlier comment, the end result almost looks like a screen-grab from an animated show. Pretty cool.
