view of Sydney across the water

I used a shutter release cable to take this shot. It was taken at about 8.30 in the evening on the last full moon.
I'm not sure if the picture would be better if the moon was a round. I would have liked to have the full bridge in the shot but there is an ugly building that blocks half the bridge.

* Why did you compose the shot as you did?
I wanted to get a shot of the city in the evening with the light reflecting off the water. I also wanted to get the leaves in the foreground to give it depth.

* What post production work have you done on the shot (if any)?
I cropped the shot (mostly from the top but a bit from the bottom as well) and added the border in photoshop.

* What did you do well?
I feel, i have used the leaves in the foreground well. I think they give the photograph a sence of depth without distracting the user.

* How could you have improved it?
I think ifthe photograph would have improved if i had actually managed to have more of the moonlight reflected off the water on the right hand side of the pic.

Thanks for presenting the full details. Not much of that is being done lately, mea culpa. Even though this is a cityscape, it seems so much in the photo competes for the viewer's attention. That moonlight and bridge would have made a nice separate view. If you could get closer (boat?), and show the city larger, it would have more detail of fewer things. It's a fine shot of a beautiful harbor, and I'll bet you could spend hours getting all the possibilities there. I hope some of them are simpler and closer (larger).

I know exactly what you mean. when i went out that night i wanted to get a shot of the bridge and another one of the city. i couldn't get one of the bridge because there was an awful building which blocked my view of the center of the bridge. I do have a few of the city though. I will process them and post them sometime soon.
