Default First ligntning shot!

This pic was taken on Aus day in perth WA.THe annual skyshow was on so mother nature decided to bring her show.Didn have a very good location but im happy with my first go.

iso 100

These two are some of my first lightning shots with my old camera about five years ago. I had been shooting lightning that summer for the first time and this one was caught on my third outing. BTW, it's pitch black out the time this was shot.

My advice for those who want to capture lighting: Set your camera to bulb and aim at the storm front. Keep the shutter open until you see lightning, then close it and you should have a good capture



Canon Rebel XT
18-55 kit lens @ 18mm
f 4.5
ISO 100
6 seconds exposure



Same as above only with a 2 second exposure

Focus at infinity? Aperture 4 or less? ISO? Excellent pics!!!
