Default Hot Italian Sub

f/14 52 seconds, ISO 125, 50mm. Shot for the Pizza cafe.

Needs work to make the sandwich clearer. Light applied with spotlight as needed.

Youve blown out the highlights on the sandwich and beer bottle label. There's too much light/shadow play in the sandwich to make really see what it is.

I agree about the highlights being a bit too blown out, it took me a minute to realize that the sandwiches were sandwiches. Neat idea, though!

Like the idea, but agree with the rest, hard to see the sandwiches.
However, the thing that bugs me the most are the shadows on the menu! I think it should be clearly visible.

As others have said, blown highlights in the sandwich and then the odd shadows across the menu really detract from the image.

Frank, not to be harsh but rather trying to be helpful.

You've been posting a lot of "how I took it" still lifes. Since it's not a critique section I've never commented. But IMO you really should be putting some of these up for critique/help as they could be better. You have the enthusiasm and keep working at it.. I think some help in the right direction and a few "retries" and you could make significant gains.

+1 to that. The critiques section would probably be really helpful.

I also whole-hardheartedly admire Franks enthusiasm. I feel like I have lost that lately and would like it back.
Even though Franks style differs greatly and it's not exactly my style, I still commend his efforts.
