84 year old friend, Lester brews his own beer ; so here' s a photo of it . I'll print this and frame it up tomorrow to give him as a 'thanks' for all the beers he's shared with me.
f/20, ISO 160, 50mm ; 87 second exposure in a dark studio. Most lighted with spotlight on large mirror to camera right reflecting back on the scene. Roses direct lit with the spot and beer glass and fabric direct lit from behind camera with spot. Candle flame 3 seconds before blowing it out. Brightened it in Picassa. No flash; all one exposure. The beer is pretty tasty but not filtered. See more work at: FrankSchmidt | RedBubble ----- |

I was about to say "how did that candle not SUPER overexpose at 87seconds worth of exposure!" then I read you blew it out at 3sec! Ahhh.. nice!
I have to say that I do really like the layout of the shot, except that glass whatever it is sticking up out of the beer mug handle. It seems to be in the way of the bottle, which since you are shooting the beer here as the main subject, is kinda important. I also think a shot such as this might work a bit better with a softer lighting, less direct glare off the glass. I think your friend will like the shot!
