This is stunning! Thank you for sharing this with us, i am new to photography and just recently bought my first slr! i want to learn more about long exposure photography and this is just great!

I love both shots! The b&w one looks almost as if the pier is floating above a mist... amazing!

I shoot long exposure all the time. People use LE's for a lot of landscape and architecture, I do, but think outside the box.

This won the NAIAS contest for its category. Its a composite but it is a long exposure. I used a B+W 3 stopper. 1 shot at 1/60 f4. 1 shot at 25 seconds (I think) at f16 (I think). I then masked them together in photoshop.

Wow that's awesome, I'll definitely have to try that with long exposure. How did you take the quick shot right after the long exposure shot? Didn't the car continue to rotate while your camera was processing the LE shot?
