Default UV Chess Glass

Glass Chess set on a glass table top. UV Blacklight underneath the scene for the entire 26 second exposure.

Done in a dark room without flash. 50mm lens, f/20, ISO 100. Spotlight as needed from camera left after 2 seconds of candle flame.

Happy New Year !!

Nice idea. I like your latest one - looks natural yet surreal. I will give this a try.

Great job! Love the most recent one, the exposure is definitely improved, you can see a lot more detail in the vase, teacups, and doily, without much compromise on the great UV lighting. I also like how the candle is surrounded by total blackness in the most recent one; it makes a wonderful point of interest. The only thing I could think to suggest is some sort of transition between the doily backdrop and the blackness surrounding the candle. Maybe burning the edges of the doily? You could also create more of a vertical line with it instead of the diagonal that it's on now. This might be just nitpicking though :-D

A question--so you blew the candle out after the frist two seconds of exposure, is that what you mean by two seconds of candlelight?
