Back to the Color Curtain behind the scene.
Pretty simple. This is a method taken from the outdoor lightpainters like Chris [Nocturne] over on flickr. Flickr: [Nocturne]'s Photostream : go see his stuff; he's a genius ! But I've never seen it applied to indoor still lifes. If you have: please send me a link so I can learn from someone else who is doing this kind of work. f/22 (the Christmas lights are really bright !) ISO 100 (I'm an insensitive kind of guy but we already knew that ) 85 mm. Set it up. Turn off the lights. Pour the soda in the glasses and open the shutter . Hit the scene with spot light from different angles as needed (no flash). Then step behind the scene and bounce the Christmas lights (white only) to do the curtain. Don't ask me why the background of white lights turn out red....there are unknowns here. You have to have a nylon stocking over the camera lens at this stage: It had to be cut up to cover the lens so you are really in trouble with the lady of the house. My advice here: Run when she finds out.. Then close the shutter. Crop and sign your name. You're done so kick back and sip the Champagne. Happy New Year ! One exposure. 44 Seconds.
