Default Confusing Shadows ?

Do these shadows confuse you? They're not meant to. It's just a result of the way the light falls when you don't use a flash or strobe.

23 seconds on a tripod. Dark room, 85mm lens on a Canon 60D. Using f/22 the background is in focus and no need to apply "texture" in layers during edit. Stanley hand held spot light.

I dont see any issues about the shadows. There's nothing odd, except the colours because of the various light sources you used and the burning/glow of the candles being very undefined and blown out because of the long exposure time.

Here's another high dynamic range picture with shadows. (and a burning wick "all blown out")

I kind of like it.

f/20, 25 sec, ISO 125 at 44 mm.
