Default Pink Champange Still Life

This image is a New Year's scene with pink champagne. The bubbly is pink because the table cloth is red. The color reflected back into the glass.

Another long exposure taken in the dark. No flash used. Canon 60D, 50mm lens, f/22 at 29 seconds of open shutter, ISO 125. All the fabric is real , no edit background . I use a spotlight to light the scene during exposure.

Important things to me here are: elements are elevated off the table top for interest. Folded fabric and shadows make for a richer picture (in my opinion).

This turned out nice. It might have benefitted from another candle out of shot to the right, just to provide a little more highlights on the glass. Have you ever tried using a red laser pointer to light up a glass of liquid? One of my best shots was of a bottle of 8year old "Black Velvet", that I had placed on a cardboard box with a small hole cut under the bottle. I put a white cloth over the box and shot the laser up through the hole from underneath. I also used a candle to light the bottle from the right. The candle was the only light in the room, but was enough to auto-focus my 50mm lens (triggered by remote). I had a hole on the left side of the box to reach my hand in to activate the laser. You should try this. It's amazing how some things react to laser light. Ping-Pong balls, crystals and gemstones all come to mind.

I have several red lasers and only have used them to shoot directly at the camera lens as a star burst effect. I'll try all your suggestions. Light is my "thing". All kinds of light.

I need to get back to using red light more.

Thanks !
