Lame quote-not so lame picture?

When I seen a sundog/circumhorizontal arc outside, I knew I had to take this opportunity to take an image that would stand out-even more so than this rare event.

I quickly got out my remote control that I believe just came in the mail that day(!) and began to take pictures. I believe I put the DoF (since I use single square focusing on my DSLR) right at the edge of the sundog and tried to line up my hand there so it would be in focus. Quite a few attempts and dramatic poses later I ended up with this.

In Photoshop I added the light you see in the palm of my hand to my fingertips while trying to keep the integrity of my thumb and ring shape and voilà-out popped this. The colors feel a bit bland to me, perhaps someday when I'm more confident, (or at least cockier) I'll jump back in and fix it up.

Like it? Love it? Hate it? At least it gave you an emotion and hopefully some inspiration!
