Default Light Painting the Couch Potato.

]Lightpainting

I bought some glow sticks a while back for the soul purpose of doing light painting. I found them as I was cleaning and was attempting to think of a way to use them. Since I am in self portrait mode, I came up with this (sort of a self portrait).

This is six photos put together with layer masks. I traced the couch, the table, the wall, the frames, myself and the glass. I decided to give the glass a little bit more than a trace and make it appear it was on fire. Figured it would give the photo a little more interest.

It took a few shots to figure out what aperture I needed to get the glow sticks to show up but I finally settled on f-13. The exposures vary from a little over a minute to 45 seconds. I like the idea, I just wish I could have done a better job of painting myself and the left frame. I did not want the glass on the frame to show up but I couldn’t do it without it there to trace, I kept on going onto the wall and couldn’t get it lined up correctly.

Overall, for a first attempt, I really like it. I hope yall enjoy it and any feedback anyone can give me for this type of photography would be appreciated.

I used a remote, locked it open with the camera set on bulb. It is me on the couch, I just traced my body (very roughly) with one hand and then with the other so I got both arms.
