Post Fashion Model

Digital Photography School - Photography Forums

This photo taken at my mini studio, only 3x3 meters square...
yes, there's no space enough for background stand, and the ceiling was too low for having the roll background.
But low ceiling gives me benefit for bouncing the light!
i took this with D90, with the kit lens 18-105mm.
F ; 8
SS ; 1/80
ISO ; 250

Flash sync at 1/10 with flash bender and bounce it to the ceilings.
[my flash bender is a home-made from papers and aluminum foil ]

Post production;
[very] soften the skin, since my friend - the model- have too many pimples
Level up Bright +5 and contrast +12
strengthen the vibrance, masking in the new layer in PS.

so please, leave any comment or critics for my future

Thank You!

Thanks for posting the info needed to make this a proper "how I took it" entry which many don't.

having said that, and acknowledging it's hard to really critique a small version of the image, I have one main point and that's the skin smoothing. It looks really fake. I noticed it immediately and thought "wow, too much skin smoothing"... That and what ever you did to the eyes makes the skin smoothing that much more noticeable.

There are others here that may comment on a better way to do it since I don't really ever skin smooth so I'm sorry I can't suggest what I'd do differently.

Just thought I'd share that as it really jumped out at me.
Thanks!

Thank YOU! i really appriciate your critics, and yes, many Indonesian people - most of my clients love the super soft skint that looks like porcelain doll!
in fact, there are photogrphers actually make money from infrared camera, which basically great for landscape and buildings, but here, it's for models with a 'barbie' looks, and less-alive for no skin textures reveals.. but for my own better skill, your comment is good for me!
