Shooting the MooN is like taking a photo of any thing but in this case you will need a ZOOM lens ...
In this two photos i use a Sigma 50-500mm lens mounting in my Nikon D90 and a tripod, i add a 2x converter to reach the 1000mm, other shots are with my Nikon 70--300mm it's a great lens to and with some crop you may get very nice Moon shoot..
