A macro photograph of two flies mating captured hand-held using a 5D Mark II with EF 100mm f/2.8 L Hybrid made possible with a pair of Canon Extension Tubes stacked for increased intimacy (pardon the pun). This was photographed in RAW and carefully post-processed to remove the distracting and less-than-pleasing off-white wall leaving all the other details in place.

Been wondering if I should go for an extension tube or just throw down for another lense. This convinces me that extension tubes are good investments anyway, so I can put off the new lense a little longer and promote domestic tranquility.

Love it. First purchase after getting my canon 100mm macro was to get the 25mm ET. I have thought about trying to add a teleconverter to the mix has anyone tried this?
Second thought...I have only been learning photography for about 9 months and doing so basically through the internet. I love macro and have essentially been using a tripod whenever possible, especially with shots this close, so did you use a tripod and they just cooperated, or is it just a matter of getting your hands that steady? |
